Nocturnal Wildlife Tours are based in Castle Douglas in South West Scotland
Our tour office is located to the rear of Scott Country International, 221-223 King Street, Castle Douglas and can be accessed via a security gate to the front of the building. Each Tour meets at sunset which will vary throughout the year.
The team at Nocturnal Wildlife Tours are all enthusiasts in different fields, and are all very knowledgeable in the use of the very latest hand held thermal imaging equipment and night vision observation devices.
Our experienced and knowledgable tour guides have over 40 years experience in the Dumfries and Galloway countryside and will guide you safely through the countryside whether on foot or in our tour vehicle all the way from the Solway Coast, to the depths of the Galloway Forest Park.
The Nocturnal Wildlife Tours Office
Our tours office is situated at the lower end of King Street. Simply drive past the clock tower (on your right) as you make your way down King Street, and then park 100yards on the left beyond the clock tower.
The office is then accessed via a secure gate system, following the path past the Scott Country International offices, to the rear where you will find our tours office.
Within the office you will find our meeting area, where our guides will discuss the areas in the region we will visit with the aid of a 50" LCD display, after which you will be presented with the wildlife observation equipment for use for the duration of the tour.

Meet "W 2OUR" our Nocturnal Wildlife Tours vehicle.
Our tour vehicle is a 2014 Land Rover Defender 110 which has been specially prepared for Nocturnal Wildlife Tours.
W 2OUR is equipped with the latest vehicle mounted thermal camera, which gives us the capability (where safe) to operate the vehicle with no visible lights to alert wildlife.
The camera can be viewed via two internal LCD screens allowing our tour guides and tour participants to watch the action from the comfort of the vehicle before getting up close and personal with our hand held thermal imaging cameras as we continue our journey on foot across various locations in our region.
The National Trust for Scotland Threave Estate - A Special Place
One of our favourite locations in Dumfries and Galloway is the Threave Castle Estate which has a vast variation of wildlife from the majestic Ospreys, to otters, badgers, roe deer, fox plus much more.
All waiting to be discovered on a Nocturnal Wildlife Tour!
